Advocacy in Tallahassee The chapter State Government Relations Committee and our Lobbyists, Marnie George and Mike Harrell are committed to keeping the interests of cardiovascular medicine and patient care heard in the capitol. It is only by joining the chapter that this important channel for the voice of cardiology to be heard. Billing and Coding Assistance Members of the Florida Chapter have access to individual consulting with billing and coding issues that plague offices. The chapter consultants, from Ray Howard and Associates, are trained to assist with systemic issues and work with the chapter's highly effective third party payer committee to bring issues to the attention of insurance carriers. Pipeline to ACC Committee Appointments ACC makes it clear that the pathway to a national committee appointment is through service at the chapter level. FCACC is fortunate to have committee openings and ways for chapter members to be involved and serve in the state. The chapter leadership consistently recommends chapter members for national appointments - a glace at the Board of Trustees and Committee System at the national level are evidence that these recommendations are taken in consideration in Washington.
